Immediate Pipe Repairs An Early Measure To Ensure Adequate Water Supply – Kelantan Exco

Kota bharu: Identifying sources of water loss and focusing on immediate pipe repairs are among the early measures taken by the Kelantan state government to ensure adequate water supply during the current drought season. State Public Works, Infrastructure, Water and Rural Development Committee chairman Datuk Dr Izani Husin confirmed these initiatives, stating that static tanks have been mobilized to affected areas to channel water to residents in need.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dr Izani emphasized the unpredictability of the drought's duration, advising the public to use water sparingly during this period to maintain an adequate supply. He assured that the state government is committed to controlling non-revenue water and will not compromise on costs to ensure the continuous supply of water to the citizens of Kelantan.

Kelantan state health director Datuk Dr Mohd Azman Yacob stated that four districts in the state-Kuala Krai, Pasir Mas, Tanah Merah, and Machang-have been designated Heatwave Level 1 zones. This classification followed the recording of temperatures between 35 to 37 degrees Celsius for three consecutive days, underscoring the severity of the current weather conditions.
