Subang jaya: A seven-year-old Indonesian boy is feared drowned after falling into a river at Persiaran Subang Indah, near a supermarket in Subang Jaya, tonight. Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Operations Assistant Director Ashrul Riezal Asbar stated that the department received an emergency call regarding the incident at 8.06 pm.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, a team from the Subang Jaya Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched to the scene and arrived 10 minutes later. The initial report from the Operations Commander indicated that the victim is believed to have fallen into the river at about 6.30 pm while playing with his friends.
The search and rescue operation is employing surface-water search methods around the area but is facing challenges due to the relatively strong river current. The Water Rescue Team from the Shah Alam Fire and Rescue Station has also been called in to assist with the search operation.
