Indonesian Woman Found Dead in Kalabakan, Husband Detained

Kalabakan:An Indonesian woman was discovered dead with injuries to her hands, head, and neck at workers' quarters in Felda Umas 6 Plantation, Jalan Kalabakan, on Monday. Police are investigating her husband's alleged involvement in the incident.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tawau District Police Chief ACP Rosdi Mat Jusoh reported that the 37-year-old plantation worker was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical officer at 8.15 pm.

The victim's husband, a 38-year-old Indonesian national, was arrested after allegedly attempting to slit his throat with a sickle, resulting in neck injuries. He is currently under treatment at Tawau Hospital.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the incident may have arisen from marital issues following the couple's return from a holiday. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.

Rosdi urged anyone with information about the case to contact investigating officer ASP Maliki Majuni at 017-898 9171 or visit the nearest police station.
