Kuala lumpur: The Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT) today launched the East Coast Edition of the Jelajah Wira LTAT 2026, incorporating a new inclusive digital live-streaming approach expected to reach over 10,000 Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) personnel nationwide.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, LTAT stated that the digital innovation aimed to strengthen the roadshow's role as a larger, more accessible and closer engagement platform for the defence community, aligning with the board's mandate to safeguard contributors' well-being while supporting the MADANI Economy framework and PuTERA35 aspirations.
"The digital approach also reflects LTAT's commitment to continuously improving service delivery to contributors, meeting the contemporary needs of ATM personnel stationed across various locations," it added. With a targeted physical attendance of over 3,600 ATM personnel across the East Coast corridor, this series has the potential to expand awareness to more than 10,000 personnel nationwide, the board noted in a statement.
The roadshow was inaugurated by Deputy Defence Minister Adly Zahari at Desa Pahlawan Camp, before proceeding to Sri Pantai Camp in Kuala Terengganu on July 9 and Kuantan Air Base in Pahang on July 13. LTAT highlighted that the combination of physical presence and digital outreach transforms the Jelajah Wira LTAT into a comprehensive two-way communication platform to enhance financial literacy and empower the social well-being of the armed forces.
The digital live stream introduced several new value-added features for ATM personnel and their families, including a symbolic presentation of the AFFIN LTAT Affiliate Debit Card and distribution of smart devices under the 2026 SPM e-Perkasa programme to enable children of ATM personnel at Desa Pahlawan Camp to access free online tuition classes.
Moreover, the programme aims to honour and empower ATM veterans through a graduation ceremony of the Second Series of the LTAT Wira Entrepreneur Empowerment Programme for the Northern Zone and the launch of the third series of the programme, which will focus on the veteran community in the East Coast region. This structured six-month economic intervention programme has yielded notable results, with participants in the second series recording an average increase in monthly business income of 162 per cent.
"This success demonstrates that organised business mentoring, combined with financial literacy and the right ecosystem support, can effectively help ATM veterans enhance their competitiveness and business sustainability," LTAT stated.
The roadshow also includes the LTAT Contributors' Briefing and Financial Literacy Programme, which, since its introduction in December 2023, has successfully reached over 68,000 ATM personnel nationwide through continuous briefing sessions conducted at various military camps.
