Kuala lumpur: The Annual Report of the Special Committee on Corruption (JKmR) will be submitted to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim before being tabled in Parliament.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, JKmR stated that the report considers the Anti-Corruption Advisory Board's (LPPR) 2025 comments on the operations of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) under the MACC Act 2009. The committee also noted that matters discussed during a special presentation session on LPPR's comments at the committee's Meeting No. 3 of 2026, held earlier today, were included in the report.

During the meeting, JKmR acknowledged LPPR's comments on the MACC Annual Report 2025, focusing on issues related to the status and implementation of enforcement, prevention, and management actions by the MACC, in line with the check-and-balance mandate entrusted to JKmR.

In the same session, JKmR expressed approval of the MACC's decision to immediately suspend the use of orange garb for people under investigation (OKS) brought to court for remand applications. The statement noted that individuals may wear regular clothing when brought to court, while lock-up attire is required only during their detention.

JKmR further clarified that the use of handcuffs would be determined based on circumstances, with exemptions for frail individuals, people with disabilities, and the elderly, subject to appropriate security assessments. The statement emphasized that this approach aims to ensure investigations are conducted professionally and in accordance with principles of justice, without compromising security requirements or the smooth conduct of investigations.
