Johor Polls: Resolving Internet Issues Top Priority For PH Candidate In Benut

Benut: Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Abd Razak Ismail has pledged to make resolving long-running internet access issues his main agenda should voters in the Benut state constituency give him the mandate in the Johor state election. The Johor Parti Amanah youth communications director said that internet connectivity was among the most common complaints raised by residents during his campaign engagements.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Abd Razak emphasized that addressing internet connectivity problems will be his top priority in Benut, indicating plans to seek solutions with support from the federal government. He also expressed his determination to focus on upgrading public facilities and infrastructure, while driving economic development initiatives in the area.

Abd Razak acknowledged the challenge of contesting in a seat seen as a traditional Barisan Nasional (BN) stronghold. However, he remains optimistic, citing encouraging responses from local residents during the campaign. The PH candidate plans to continue vigorous campaigning through social media platforms in the final days leading up to the election.

On the other hand, BN candidate Datuk Mohd Sumali Reduan is also intensifying his efforts to engage with Benut voters. As UMNO's working secretary, Mohd Sumali believes his deep-rooted connections in Benut, where he was born and raised, could be advantageous in his electoral contest.

Both candidates are preparing for a direct contest in the Johor state election this Saturday. The Benut seat was previously held by former Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad, who represented BN and secured a majority of 5,859 votes in the last election.
