Johor bahru: The presence of Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has been a significant boost to the coalition's campaign in the 16th Johor State Election, as reported by Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil. Fahmi noted the enthusiastic response from the local community during campaign events in Senggarang and Semerah, Batu Pahat district.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fahmi shared his observations after accompanying the Prime Minister during two campaign programs. He recounted the eagerness of the community, highlighting an instance where an elderly man brought his wife in a trishaw to meet Anwar Ibrahim. Fahmi, who also serves as PH Communications director, emphasized that this reaction signifies the community's interest and acceptance of the coalition's campaign narrative.
Fahmi expressed optimism that the positive reception will translate into support or, at the very least, increased interest in the state election. Over the weekend, on July 4 and 5, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim attended 15 events across the state, aiming to bolster PH's campaign efforts and motivate candidates and party workers.
In the current state election, PH is contesting all 56 State Legislative Assembly seats. A total of 172 candidates are vying for these positions. The election's polling day is scheduled for Saturday, July 11, with early voting having taken place today.
