Johor Secures Over RM5 Billion in Potential Investments from Singapore Meetings

Kuala lumpur: Johor has successfully attracted potential investments worth more than RM5 billion following a series of meetings with investors during a three-day working visit to Singapore that concluded today. Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi shared that this achievement underscores Johor's growing reputation as an attractive investment destination and a burgeoning growth hub within the region.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the potential investments span strategic and high-tech sectors, including high-speed optical technology, healthcare, and semiconductor manufacturing equipment. These investments are expected to bring not only capital but also technology, expertise, and new employment opportunities to the state. Onn Hafiz highlighted that the availability of talent and a highly skilled workforce in Johor is a significant factor in attracting investor interest. The state's infrastructure and facilities, coupled with a workforce capable of meeting industry needs, are seen as key advantages.

Onn Hafiz emphasized the importance of talent development through the Johor Talent Development Council (JTDC) as a top priority. He noted that aligning training and skills development with actual industry demands is crucial to ensure that Johor residents are prepared to fill the jobs created by new investments. Additionally, the Invest Malaysia Facilitation Centre Johor (IMFC-J) will continue to streamline and speed up investment-related processes to support investors.

He expressed optimism that the potential investments would come to fruition, leading to the creation of more quality jobs and wider economic opportunities for the people of Johor. "Insya-Allah, we will continue to ensure that every investment coming into Johor brings benefits to the state and Bangsa Johor," he affirmed.
