JPJ to Limit Customer Transactions to Registered Intermediaries from January 1

Siena:The Road Transport Department (JPJ) will only permit registered and approved intermediaries to conduct customer transactions at all its offices and branches nationwide starting January 1.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, JPJ director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli announced this measure aims to regulate intermediary services more systematically, transparently, and with integrity. Registration for JPJ-approved intermediaries will open on November 1 via an online platform provided by the department.

Each approved intermediary will receive an official digital identification document with a serial number, valid for two years, subject to JPJ’s terms and regulations. Aedy Fadly emphasized that this approval does not imply any ties or endorsements from JPJ. The department will not be responsible for any issues arising from private transactions between customers and intermediaries.

The public is advised to use official JPJ channels, such as the MyJPJ application, JPJ Public Portal, and service counters, to avoid risks. This initiative underscores JPJ's commitment to integrity, transparency, and efficient service delivery while prioritizing customer interests.

On the newly upgraded Perlis JPJ office counters, Aedy Fadly noted the improvements were completed swiftly under the 13th Malaysia Plan, benefiting about 400 daily visitors and enhancing the working environment for staff.
