Lukut: Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK) leaders must execute their duties with integrity and ensure that the public receives clear and accurate information regarding government initiatives and achievements, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasized. Being at the grassroots level, JPKK leaders play a crucial role in maintaining racial harmony, enhancing national unity, and ensuring the country's stability and security.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar highlighted the importance of grassroots leadership while addressing a gathering with Negeri Sembilan JPKK leaders in Lukut. He referenced the era of Tun Abdul Razak, noting the essential role of JPKK's predecessors, JKKK, in achieving stability. He stressed that leadership wisdom at the grassroots is key to national stability, regardless of the capabilities of national or state leaders. The event was also attended by the state Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
To bolster the role and welfare of JPKK at the grassroots, the Prime Minister announced a government allocation of RM5.319 million specifically for these committees in Negeri Sembilan. Anwar underscored the necessity for transparency and good governance among JPKK leaders, ensuring that government allocations and facilities directly benefit the people without any leakages or misappropriation.
Moreover, Anwar noted that 348 out of the 394 JPKK in Negeri Sembilan have benefited from the Sejati MADANI Programme, receiving grants totaling RM34.12 million. He also commended the Negeri Sembilan administration under Aminuddin for its consistent excellence and focus on the people's welfare. Anwar urged the defense of a government with a strong track record, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a collaborative relationship with the Menteri Besar to prioritize development efforts.
