Kuala lumpur: The Cabinet will decide on Wednesday whether to make public the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report into Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH), Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced today. The decision will be made during the weekly Cabinet meeting, where the release of the report will be deliberated.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in addressing the issues surrounding Tabung Haji. He noted that the public deserves access to the report, highlighting the need for clarity on whether any wrongdoing occurred. Anwar stated, "If nothing is wrong, stand up for it. If something is wrong, prosecute. If found guilty and sentenced to prison, then serve the sentence. It has nothing to do with me. Our system is clear; investigations are carried out by the investigating authorities, prosecutions by the Attorney General, and judgments by the courts. That is not the Prime Minister's job."

The announcement was made during the Semarak Kenegaraan programme at Syed Sirajuddin Camp, with several key officials in attendance, including Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, Deputy Defence Minister Adly Zahari, Chief of Defence Forces General Tan Sri Malek Razak Sulaiman, and Army Chief General Tan Sri Azhan Md Othman.

Anwar reiterated his commitment to integrity and adherence to constitutional and legal processes as Prime Minister. Last Thursday, he had expressed the government's readiness to release the final RCI report on TH to the public, following allegations concerning the sale of TH's strategic assets. The Prime Minister also mentioned his intention to consult the Chief Secretary to the Government regarding whether the report should be referred to the Cabinet before its release.
