JS-SEZ Secures RM132 Billion in Investments by Mid-2026

Jakarta:The Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) has successfully attracted RM132 billion in investments between 2025 and June 2026. This collaborative initiative between Malaysia and Singapore aims to bolster economic ties and development in the region.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who also serves as Finance Minister, announced that he and Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong are set to launch the JS-SEZ master plan and blueprint by the end of the year. One of the key projects within the zone is the Sedenak Nexus, which is expected to evolve into a new industrial hub in the northern part of the JS-SEZ, with anticipated investments of RM12 billion and the creation of 45,000 jobs.

To support this development, the road from the Sedenak interchange will undergo upgrades, along with enhancements to facilities aimed at improving connectivity to major ports and regional trade networks.

In addition to the developments within the JS-SEZ, Anwar highlighted an agreement with Indonesia to accelerate the reopening of the Tebedu-Entikong trade route. There will also be ongoing upgrades to road infrastructure along the borders of Sabah, Sarawak, and Kalimantan to facilitate cross-border movement.
