Thailand: The KASIH Kanak-Kanak programme, implemented by the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM), has been recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records as the largest child protection advocacy programme, with participation from 128,148 children nationwide.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri stated that the programme was executed through the Department of Child Development and the Department of Social Welfare across 564 schools and 46 children activity centres nationwide, benefiting 71,213 children. In Sarawak, the programme reached 14,895 participants via 71 schools and eight activity centres.
The initiative encourages community participation to act as 'eyes and ears' by reporting child abuse cases through the Talian Kasih 15999 helpline, aiming to ensure safer environments for children. Nancy Shukri shared this while closing the Children's Day Carnival in Kampung Sempadi.
The Santubong MP also highlighted the launch of the National Action Plan on Child's Policy (2026-2030) on November 18, featuring 141 actions under four policy objectives and strategic priorities to enhance child protection and development.
Furthermore, Malaysia's commitment to regional efforts on child digital safety was reaffirmed through the 2025 ASEAN ICT Forum on Child Online Protection, aligning with the ASEAN Digital Masterplan 2025. Nancy Shukri emphasized that the children present at the event represent the nation's future and embody hopes for a more caring and progressive Malaysia.
During the event, an announcement was made regarding the allocation of RM500,000 for the upgrading of the rural access road (JPD) project on Jalan Sampadi, which is currently in progress. An additional upgrade near a mosque has been completed with an allocation of RM320,000.
