KBS Mulls Tech, Innovation To Lure Corporate Sports Sponsors

Kuala Lumpur: The Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) is considering the use of technology and innovation in sports as part of new strategies to attract corporate sponsorships for local and international tournaments. Deputy Minister Adam Adli Abd Halim announced this initiative, highlighting the potential for mobile applications and virtual media to enhance viewership accessibility.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Adam Adli emphasized the importance of offering flexible and attractive sponsorship packages. These packages are designed to provide clear returns on investment and cover branding opportunities across platforms such as social media, television, live broadcasts, and promotional materials.

He further elaborated on the potential of strengthening brand development through international recognition. Hosting events like Le Tour de Langkawi could attract global audiences, offering local corporate companies the chance to expand their brand presence overseas. This could be achieved through sponsorships or corporate social responsibility initiatives, thereby enhancing their international branding influence.

During a question-and-answer session in the Dewan Rakyat, Adam Adli responded to a query from Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden (PN-Alor Setar) regarding new strategies to attract corporate sponsorships. He also invited corporate companies to collaborate in bolstering the development of national sports.
