Selangor:KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM) is enhancing its governance and logistics operations by partnering with Chevron Malaysia Ltd (Caltex) through the implementation of the Caltex StarCard.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, KDEBWM managing director Datuk Ramli Mohd Tahir announced that the initiative involves distributing Caltex StarCards to 452 representatives from subcontractor companies and lorry operators associated with the solid waste management firm. These cards will ensure the use of Caltex Euro 5 diesel more efficiently, with each representative receiving a card and security PIN immediately.
Ramli explained that the physical cards would allow real-time monitoring of fuel purchases for utility vehicles in various districts of Selangor, transitioning from the traditional cash-based system, which had higher misuse risks. The digital tracking of transactions via the StarCard will enable management to oversee the station locations, refueling times, and fuel volumes through a virtual dashboard.
The collaboration aims to prevent fuel diversion and potential losses, while also offering additional benefits such as rebates, reward points, and better corporate expense management. Caltex Malaysia chairman Leong Jee Wong highlighted that the StarCard allows businesses to set purchase limits and maintain structured transaction records, enhancing security with features like PIN activation and fraud detection. The integrated platform supports businesses in monitoring spending and managing expenditure efficiently.
