PKR Calls for Resolution of Negeri Sembilan Administrative Standoff

Kuala Lampur:Negeri Sembilan: The Negeri Sembilan Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Leadership Council has urged a swift resolution to the state's administrative standoff to prevent further disruption to government functions and public welfare.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, the chairman of the council, highlighted that the impasse involved constitutional and royal institutional issues, sparking concerns over the continuity of state governance, economic stability, and the well-being of the public.

The former Menteri Besar expressed concern over the uncertainty regarding the status of the State Executive Council (Exco) members, which could delay critical decisions requiring state authority approval. He noted that this uncertainty could adversely affect investment, project implementation, and land-related matters, undermining investor confidence and impacting employment and household incomes.

Aminuddin emphasized the importance of Village Development and Security Committees (JPKK) and councillors, which serve as essential links between the government and grassroots communities. Their roles, he stated, should not remain uncertain as it could weaken representation and effective coordination.

He also mentioned that the ongoing situation has led to perceptions of an ineffective state government due to the prolonged dispute. Aminuddin called on political leaders to exercise restraint, avoid escalating tensions through inflammatory statements, and allow constitutional and legal processes to address the crisis.

A recent meeting between Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim and the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, took place at Istana Hinggap, lasting nearly three hours, to discuss issues related to the state's administration.

Previously, Tuanku Muhriz revoked the appointments of 10 Exco members, effective September 20, with the revocation being officially gazetted on September 24. The affected members include Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli, Datuk Zaifulbahri Idris, Datuk Mustapha Nagoor, Siow Kong Choon, Siti Nur Umaira Hasim, Datuk Mohd Asna Amin, Datuk Mohd Razi Mohd Ali, Suhaimizan Bizar, Mohd Fairuz Mohd Isa, and Datuk Razali Abu Samah.
