This figure represents 52.9 percent of the department's target to immunize 91,500 children in the region.
Dr Zaini emphasized that out of those vaccinated, 96.7 percent are citizens while 3.3 percent are non-citizens. The immunisation program is accessible to all children, irrespective of their current vaccination status. Among the districts, Jeli achieved the highest coverage at 81.0 percent, followed by Tanah Merah at 67.5 percent, and Bachok at 65.2 percent.
Additionally, seven other districts achieved coverage ranging from 40 to 60 percent. These include Pasir Puteh (54.8), Pasir Mas (53.2), Machang (53.0), Tumpat (51.7), Gua Musang (50.2), Kota Bharu (44.6), and Kuala Krai (48.8).
