Kelantan: Kelantan Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) director Azman Ismail died of colon cancer early today. He was 57. According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kelantan KPDN stated that his nephew, Ahmad Danial Asyee Zakaria, confirmed that Azman died at 2.40 am at the Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital. Funeral prayers are scheduled at Masjid Al-Baqi Mukim Mujur, Jelawat at 9 am, followed by the burial at the Kampung Kuin Pasir Islamic cemetery in Jelawat, Bachok. Azman leaves behind his wife and five children. He had been in an induced coma for the past week due to complications from colon cancer and had been receiving hospital care for several months. The KPDN expressed their condolences, acknowledging his contributions and noting the significant loss to the department, especially in Kelantan. Meanwhile, Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) broadcast journalist Majidah Ismail shared that Azman was approachable and supportive during KPDN-related coverage. She highlighted his involvement in severa l programmes organized by the Kelantan Darul Naim Media Club, including the Kelantan Media Awards Night in 2023, where he shared valuable insights to ensure the success of the events.
