KESEDAR Allocates RM170,000 For Settlers’ Land Premiums

Kuala Lumpur: The South Kelantan Development Authority (KESEDAR) has allocated approximately RM170,000 to cover land premiums for settlers involved in planned land development projects.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, KESEDAR's chairman, Datuk Zawawi Othman, stated that the payments to the state government are designed to facilitate the process of land ownership for settlers on KESEDAR-owned land. This initial phase will benefit 127 settlers across five developments: Sungai Asap, Renok Baru, Paloh 1, Paloh 3, and Chalil.

Each settler is set to receive a plantation lot nearly four hectares in size, with an estimated land value ranging between RM360,000 and RM468,000 per lot. The subsequent phase will extend ownership transfer to 2,410 settlers in an additional nine developments.

During a speech at the 2025 KESEDAR housing aid presentation and Hari Raya Aidilfitri event at Dataran Awam Kampung Jerek, Datuk Zawawi emphasized that settlers are required to sign Form 14A under the National Land Code 1965, the official document necessary for a change in land ownership. He noted that settlers will then gain legal ownership and the ability to manage the land independently.
