KESUMA to Utilize RM50 Million Fund for TVET 2.0 Implementation: Ramanan

Kuala lumpur: The Human Resources Ministry (KESUMA) has announced its commitment to fully utilize the RM50 million fund allocated to the Skill Development Fund Corporation to enhance the implementation of Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) 2.0. Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R Ramanan expressed gratitude for the allocation announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim during the National TVET Day 2026 celebrations.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Minister Ramanan emphasized the ministry's dedication to employing the funds effectively to initiate high-impact programs aimed at empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and positioning TVET as a significant pathway for talent and career development. The allocation signifies the MADANI government's consistent commitment to cultivating a future workforce that is both highly-skilled and resilient, aligning with industry demands and the objectives outlined in the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP), the New Industrial Master Plan, and the National Energy Transition Roadmap.

Minister Ramanan highlighted that the Prime Minister's announcement would generate more employment opportunities for youth, workers, and MSME entrepreneurs, thereby enhancing skills and participation in high-value economic sectors. This initiative is anticipated to address the increasing demand for skilled labor, bolstering Malaysia's competitiveness as both an investment destination and a regional talent hub. The funds will be directed towards programs under the guidance of the National TVET Council and the Skill Development Fund Corporation, with a focus on strategic sectors such as electric and electronic, green economy, blue economy, and orange economy, identified as high-potential growth areas.

Furthermore, Minister Ramanan welcomed the Prime Minister's emphasis on translating the allocation into impactful actions through a collaborative effort among the government, industry, and training institutions. This cooperation is expected to ensure that TVET programs remain responsive to emerging technologies, investor requirements, and the demand for a locally skilled workforce. "This synergy will expedite the transformation of the TVET ecosystem and reinforce the Malaysia MADANI talent development agenda," he stated.
