KKR Considers RM3 Million Allocation To Repair Storm-Damaged Quarters In Sungai Besi

Sungai besi: The Public Works Ministry (KKR) is contemplating allocating approximately RM3 million to address the damage sustained by the Public Works Department (JKR) quarters at Batu 4 1/2, Sungai Besi, following a storm that struck yesterday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Deputy Works Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan reported that an initial inspection revealed damage to 57 residential units due to the storm, which occurred around 3 pm. Efforts to repair the damage are currently in progress. "There are 150 terrace house quarters as well as apartment units in this area. KKR will give due consideration for the necessary approval," he stated in his remarks after assessing the situation today.

The JKR further reported that the storm inflicted damage on various structures and properties in the impacted vicinity. Observations indicated that the damage included residential roofs, garages collapsing onto vehicles, and additional harm caused by falling roofs and building debris.
