KLCI Futures Contracts Close Lower in Line with Cash Market

Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contracts on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended the trading day lower, mirroring the trend in the underlying cash market.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the September 2026 futures contract fell by 11.5 points to settle at 1,660.0. Meanwhile, both the October 2026 and December 2026 contracts saw a decrease of 13.5 points, closing at 1,658.0 and 1,663.5, respectively. The March 2027 contract declined by 12 points, ending at 1,646.5.

The turnover for the futures contracts increased to 6,603 lots compared to 5,973 lots on Monday. Open interest also rose, standing at 46,206 contracts, up from the previous count of 45,545 contracts. At the close of trading at 5 pm, the FBM KLCI itself had eased by 18.80 points, marking a decline of 1.11 per cent, finishing at 1,679.21 points. This was a drop from Monday's closing figure of 1,698.01 points.
