KLCI Futures Rise as Spot Market Gains

Kuala Lumpur:The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended higher on Wednesday, reflecting the stronger performance in the underlying spot market.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the September 2026 contract increased by 19.5 points to 1,656.5, while the October 2026 contract added 9.5 points to reach 1,641.5. The December 2026 contract saw a gain of 9.0 points, closing at 1,650.5, and the March 2027 contract rose by 8.0 points to 1,634.5.

Despite the upward trend, turnover decreased to 10,947 lots from the previous day's 31,168 lots, and open interest fell to 51,407 contracts from 72,700 contracts.

At 5 pm, the FBM KLCI itself increased by 7.21 points, or 0.43 percent, reaching 1,651.17, up from Tuesday's close of 1,643.96.
