Kuale Lenggang Day To Be Biennial Tourism Event, Says MPKK

Kuala kangsar: The Kuala Kangsar Municipal Council (MPKK) aims to establish 'Hari Kuale Lenggang' as a biennial event to enhance the royal town's standing as a historical, cultural, and sustainable tourism hub in Perak.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MPKK President Dr. Sakduddin Zamli reported that the inaugural Kuale Lenggang Day, organized by MPKK and Visual Motion Lab in collaboration with Think City and Yayasan Hasanah, drew over 7,000 visitors to Jalan Kangsar. The event is anticipated to boost Kuala Kangsar as a tourist attraction and community hub, while providing economic benefits for local traders and tourism industry participants. Dr. Zamli noted that traders and entrepreneurs appreciated the opportunity and expressed hope for the program's continuation due to its positive impact on their income and the promotion of Kuala Kangsar's unique products.

The event featured various activities, such as the 'Subuh Macam Jumaat' morning program, a 5km Fun Run named Lenggang Kuale, Heritage and Cultural Explorace, a 25km Bicycle Ride, an Ulu Bekor Orang Asli dance performance, sales of heritage food, cultural performances by Malay, Chinese, and Indian communities, and Hop On, Hop Off bus tours of the town's tourist spots.

Perak Tourism (services division) executive officer Mohd Fauzan Baharudin, representing the Perak Tourism Director, remarked that Kuale Lenggang Day aligns with Malaysia MADANI aspirations, which focus on humanitarian values and unity as national development pillars. He emphasized that the event could become a significant attraction for both local and international tourists, highlighting Kuala Kangsar's potential to emerge as a world-class cultural destination while providing economic advantages for the local community.
