Kuala Lumpur: The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP), through its agencies, is set to enhance its collaboration with Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (BPMB) to expand financing access for high-potential entrepreneurs, with a focus on youth, women, and the Indian community. Deputy Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan revealed this development following a meeting with BPMB chairman Datuk Sulaiman Mohd Tahir and chief executive officer Datuk Muzaffar Hisham during their courtesy call.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ramanan expressed confidence that this collaboration would provide more opportunities for local entrepreneurs and strengthen the national entrepreneurial ecosystem. The meeting followed a strategic development where EXIM Bank and SME Bank became wholly-owned subsidiaries of BPMB as of May 1, marking a significant realignment aimed at bolstering the country's development financial institutions network.

The meeting also facilitated discussions on BPMB's role in supporting the national development agenda through high-impact financing aimed at fostering growth in the entrepreneurship and SME sectors. Ramanan welcomed BPMB's commitment to financing initiatives aligned with the MADANI Economy framework, which emphasizes sustainability, prosperity, and inclusivity for the well-being of the people.
