KUSKOP Warns Against ‘Cable’ Or Insider Dealings In Fund Applications

Kuala lumpur: The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) has issued a stern warning that it will not compromise on any 'cable' or insider practices in the processing of entrepreneur fund applications under the ministry. Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong stressed that all government-provided funds and business loan assistance are the absolute right of eligible Malaysians, without requiring any political lifelines.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the ministry is now fully committed to eliminating any need for political support letters or third-party involvement in approving financing. Minister Sim Chee Keong highlighted that there will no longer be any requirement for political endorsements or 'cable' connections. The funds are open to all Malaysians, and eligibility will be based solely on meeting the set requirements, without discrimination based on race, religion, or political ideology.

Sim further elaborated that KUSKOP is actively driving administrative reform through a structured framework to enhance the country's entrepreneurial ecosystem. Key reform priorities include simplifying application processes, reducing capital approval times, and minimizing bureaucratic hurdles across all ministry agencies.

Addressing concerns about potential delays or abuse of power, Sim expressed confidence in the professionalism of the ministry's agency staff. However, he assured that there would be transparent investigations and decisive action if any misconduct is identified. He emphasized the importance of political leadership maintaining integrity and adhering to principles of good governance to ensure the success of these reforms.
