Bandar sri jempol: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is examining information related to the implementation of the oil palm development and replanting programme at FELDA Palong 7 in Wilayah Raja Alias, Bandar Sri Jempol, Negeri Sembilan. This includes concerns over the quality of the seedlings supplied and their compliance with the required specifications.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the information was received from Pertubuhan Badan Bertindak Generasi Palong (Perbagi) chairman Mohd Syahrizal Md Yusuf, who raised concerns over the quality of the oil palm seedlings and the implementation of the programme. The commission is looking into issues such as the supply, delivery, storage, and age of the oil palm seedlings, as well as their adherence to the required specifications.

MACC has acknowledged the allegations and concerns raised, stating that it will examine the information to determine if any offences fall within its jurisdiction. The commission has also noted the request for a relevant technical agency to inspect the seedlings, specifically regarding their quality and compliance with the stipulated specifications.

The outcome of the investigation and information obtained will guide any further action. The oil palm replanting programme is expected to benefit approximately 450 settlers in the area. However, MACC emphasized that receiving the information does not imply that any party has committed an offence, nor should it be regarded as a conclusion against any individual or party involved.

Previously, media reports indicated that a group of new-generation FELDA Palong 7 settlers had called for MACC to investigate the implementation of the oil palm development and replanting programme, which involves an estimated RM70 million to RM80 million.
