Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has not opened an investigation paper yet regarding allegations of document falsification in the registration of seven heritage players by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM). MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki stated that the case is viewed as a technical issue between FAM and FIFA, and the national football governing body is expected to resolve the issue.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Azam Baki explained that it is up to FIFA to decide whether to consider the appeal submitted by FAM. He emphasized that, for the moment, MACC will not investigate this case as it primarily concerns FIFA's actions. The Home Ministry's verification related to the seven heritage players has also been acknowledged.
Previously, the media reported that FAM and the seven heritage players faced penalties from FIFA's Disciplinary Committee for violating Article 22 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code (FDC), which pertains to document falsification. The players involved are Gabriel Felipe Arrocha, Facundo Garces, Rodrigo Holgado, Imanol Machuca, Joao Figueiredo, Jon Irazabal, and Hector Hevel.
