Shah alam: Magika Studios, an ecotourism and edutainment theme park, is expected to become Selangor's newest attraction when it is completed in the middle of next year. Landasan Lumayan Sdn Bhd (LLSB) managing director Syaiful Azmen Nordin announced that the theme park's development at the 28.32-hectare Mangrove Point in Port Klang, a joint venture between the Selangor Maritime Gateway project and KRU Entertainment Sdn Bhd (KRUESB), commenced in October.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Magika Studios project is the second phase of collaboration with KRUESB, with a joint allocation of RM5 million. Syaiful Azmen noted that the project aims to showcase the beauty of mangrove forests while promoting sustainability through entertainment and education. As part of the Environmental, Social, and Governance development initiatives under SMG, the project emphasizes technology and entertainment as mediums for environmental education.
The collaboration aims to demonstrate sustainable development alongside the preservation of natural ecosystems, contributing to Sungai Klang's transformation into a rehabilitated waterway and a new hub for Selangor's green economy and tourism. The project will feature immersive light displays and storytelling using local folklore characters to raise public awareness of conservation and the Sungai Klang ecosystem's preservation.
Magika Studios will offer animatronic and audio-visual presentations that bring local folklore characters and environmental messages to life. Other attractions include guided tours along a one-kilometre boardwalk through mangrove forests and wildlife habitats, as well as river and water activities for visitors.
Located just 30 minutes from Kuala Lumpur, Magika Studios is poised to become a new tourism product in Selangor, attracting local and international visitors in line with the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign. KRUESB president and CEO Datuk Norman Abdul Halim expressed appreciation to the Selangor government and LLSB for the opportunity to bring the award-winning film *Magika* to life as an edutainment-themed attraction, combining entertainment and digital technology with environmental conservation awareness.
