MAIPs Provides RM337,200 to Support Perlis Form Six Students

Kangar: The Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) has allocated a total of RM337,200 to assist 281 pre-university (Form Six) students from nine schools in Perlis. This allocation aims to alleviate the financial burden faced by these students as they prepare to advance their studies.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MAIPs Chief Executive Officer Mohd Nazim Mohd Noor stated that each student received RM1,200 in financial aid. The distribution was led by Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Syed Alwi, which recorded the highest number of recipients. The school received RM97,200, benefiting 81 students. SMK Tengku Suleiman followed with RM79,200 allocated for 66 students.

Other schools that benefitted include SMK Syed Sirajuddin with RM43,200 for 36 students, SMK Putra with RM36,000 for 30 students, and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama (SMKA) Arau with RM27,600 for 23 students. SMKA (P) Alawiyah Kangar received RM26,400 for 22 students, SMK Derma was allocated RM12,000 for 10 students, SMK Perlis received RM9,600 for eight students, and SMK Syed Hassan was granted RM6,000 for five students.

The symbolic presentation ceremony of the MAIPs higher education assistance was officiated by the Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, alongside the Raja Puan Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil. The event took place yesterday, highlighting the council's ongoing commitment to supporting Perlis' educational objectives and ensuring students' welfare as they strive for a promising future.
