Sarikei: Three men were killed while another suffered minor injuries in a crash involving two four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicles at a 'P' turning along the Pan Borneo Sarikei-Sibu Highway tonight. The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department dispatched a team from the Sarikei Fire and Rescue Station to the scene after receiving a call at 8.30 pm.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, firefighters found that the crash involved a single cab and a double cab 4WD vehicle. Three men occupied the double cab vehicle; one was ejected from the vehicle, while the other two were trapped inside. The driver of the single cab vehicle sustained minor injuries.
Firefighters utilized rescue equipment to extricate the two trapped victims, and all the victims were subsequently handed over to Health Ministry officials before being transferred to police custody for further action. The cause of the crash and the identities of the victims are still under investigation by the authorities.
