Kuala lumpur: Yayasan Warisan Ummah Ikhlas and Yayasan Sinar Untuk Malaysia founder Datuk Hussamuddin Yaacub emphasized the urgency of shaping Malaysia's future within the next 30 years, highlighting that the actions taken today will directly impact the country that will be inherited by future generations.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Datuk Hussamuddin expressed concern over the current societal focus on disputes related to racial, religious, and political issues. He stressed the need to initiate efforts to enhance the country's systems and institutions without delay, irrespective of differences in background or ideology.

"We are running out of time. Today's division cannot be inherited. Corruption and breach of trust cannot make us merely complain or accept them to be negotiated, normalised or forgiven. We must have the courage to fight. If our institutions are weak, we must immediately restore them. Fix a broken system now," he stated in a media statement during the 69th National Day celebration.

He highlighted the importance of leadership and national values, likening them to a 'baton' that should be passed from one generation to the next. He underscored that alongside physical progress, values like integrity and compassion must be cultivated.

Datuk Hussamuddin further elaborated that these values are essential for the country's prosperity, warning against superficial progress that lacks moral fortitude. "That baton is our values that need to be carried along, no matter how tall the buildings we build and how advanced the technology we have in building Malaysia 100 years after Independence," he said.

In conclusion, he called upon all societal levels to take on the responsibility of shaping their families, organizations, and the nation's future over the next three decades, ensuring a legacy that future generations can proudly inherit.
