Malaysia Airlines Urges Extra Travel Time for KLIA Passengers During MotoGP

Kuala Lumpur:Malaysia Airlines has advised passengers traveling from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) between today and November 1 to allocate additional travel time due to anticipated traffic congestion during the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix (MotoGP).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the airline issued a Facebook post warning of heavy traffic and delays expected on roads and highways leading to KLIA during the event at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC).

Malaysia Airlines emphasized that airport access remains fully open. However, passengers are encouraged to stay informed with real-time traffic updates from the Royal Malaysia Police, consider alternative routes if necessary, and use the KLIA Ekspres train service.

Passengers are urged to arrive at KLIA at least three hours before their international flight departures and two hours before domestic flights. Malaysia Airlines also reminded passengers that check-in counters for both domestic and international flights will close 60 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

The airline expressed gratitude to passengers for their understanding and cooperation during this peak travel period. The 2026 Malaysian MotoGP, running from today until Sunday, is expected to draw 200,000 spectators over the three-day event.
