Kulim:The Malaysia Cleanup Day 2026 program at Junjong Waterfall Recreational Park united the community in a shared effort to promote cleanliness and environmental awareness.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the event was organized by the Kulim Municipal Council (MPKK) with support from the Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT). It involved the participation of the local community, government agencies, private sector representatives, non-governmental organizations, and volunteers in a gotong-royong (community clean-up) activity.

MPKK councillor and chief whip Badrol Hisham Mohd Yusoff emphasized that the initiative carried a message beyond mere clean-up efforts, highlighting cleanliness as a shared responsibility. He stressed the importance of preventive measures such as reducing waste, segregating waste, and practicing reuse and recycling as part of daily life.

Activities at the event included an aerobics session, a community clean-up around the park, and a lucky draw for participants. Badrol Hisham noted that hosting the program at the recreational park underscored the significance of preserving natural spaces for public enjoyment.

He further remarked that the program demonstrated the collective responsibility of individuals in maintaining clean and safe public spaces, contributing to a healthier and more sustainable environment in Kulim.
