Malaysia: 'Malaysia MADANI: Rakyat Disantuni' has been declared as the theme for this year's National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM2025) celebrations, with the Malaysia MADANI logo retaining its place as the official symbol. Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil revealed that the theme underscores the government's commitment to safeguarding the welfare of the people, aligning with the Malaysia MADANI aspiration that emphasizes unity and prosperity.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, several key events are planned to bolster the spirit of independence, starting with the National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang launch ceremony on July 27, 2025, at Dataran Tanjung Emas, Muar, Johor. The National Day 2025 celebration is scheduled for August 31, 2025, at Dataran Putrajaya, while Malaysia Day will be commemorated on September 16 in Penang, adhering to the rotational practice of alternating the location between Sabah, Sarawak, and Peninsular Malaysia.
Minister Fahmi made these announcements during a weekly press conference at the Tun Abdul Razak Broadcasting and Information Institute (IPPTAR) in Angkasapuri, attended by Transport Minister Anthony Loke and Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi. He revealed that 14 additional events will accompany the HKHM2025 festivities, including the Merdeka Countdown, the 2025 Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang, and the Wayang Pacak Merdeka (open-air cinema).
The minister mentioned the continuation of the 1 Rumah 1 Jalur Gemilang initiative, aimed at encouraging Malaysians to proudly display the national flag. This year, the initiative will expand to include two new clusters: the industrial cluster and the government agency cluster. In 2024, the program successfully engaged five clusters, encompassing Education, Higher Education, Health, Security, and Community, with a total of 698 activities.
