Malaysia: Malaysia is aiming to achieve a position within the top 10 of the Global Peace Index as the country is currently ranked 12 out of 165 countries. Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail highlighted Malaysia's standing within ASEAN, where it ranks second behind Singapore, and third in the Asia-Pacific region below Singapore and New Zealand.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Saifuddin Nasution emphasized the importance of security and stability as foundational elements for growth. He mentioned that moving towards the 13th Malaysia Plan includes specific instructions to his secretary-general to work towards achieving a top 10 position on the Global Peace Index. He made these remarks during a speech at a dinner event held in conjunction with a security briefing and assessment program for foreign representatives to the Eastern Sabah Security Zone (ESSZone).

The minister also expressed gratitude towards Australia and the Republic of Korea for their constructive reassessments of travel advisories involving the ESSZone. He acknowledged Japan's efforts in reviewing and updating its travel advisory twice, demonstrating its commitment to aligning with current conditions. Additionally, he noted the United States' recent decision to undertake a similar review.

Saifuddin Nasution stated that the review of travel advisories would not only recognize Malaysia's security achievements but also strengthen confidence, boost tourism, encourage sustainable investment, and deepen Malaysia's relationships with various countries. Over the past 13 years, the government has invested RM723 million in the security of the ESSZone, enhancing the ability to travel freely, visit islands, and engage with communities, thanks to the government's commitment through the Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCOM).
