Bukit Kayu Hitam: The Malaysian Army's 2nd Division Infantry apprehended 31 Myanmar nationals attempting to cross into Malaysia illegally near the Malaysia-Thailand border early today. The arrests occurred around 6 am in an area monitored by the 6th Malaysian Infantry Brigade, where a patrolling team discovered the immigrants concealed within an oil palm plantation near the border.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Army's statement revealed that the group consisted of 14 men, 14 women, two boys, and a girl, with ages ranging from two to 42 years. The operation also resulted in the seizure of cash, 23 mobile phones, and jewelry, collectively valued at approximately RM27,000.
The detained individuals were subsequently transferred to the Bukit Kayu Hitam police station for further processing and action.
