Malaysian Firms Collaborate With WPS to Enhance AI Integration in Business Operations

Kuala Lumpur:Four prominent Malaysian companies have formed a partnership with global office software provider WPS to boost the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in business operations, particularly targeting small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the companies involved—Systech Digital Solutions, Protonsonic, Global Digital, and Advisirs Plus—have teamed up with WPS to create AI-powered office solutions customized for Malaysian businesses. This collaboration was officially announced at the WPS Malaysia AI Office Salon held on October 30 at the Huawei AI Lab and Innovation Centre, The Exchange 106, Tun Razak Exchange (TRX).

WPS, operating under Kingsoft Office, aims to solidify its presence in Malaysia by enhancing local customer support, technical services, and AI-related training. Jiang Zhiqiang, Kingsoft Office's senior vice-president, emphasized Malaysia's pivotal role in the company's global expansion, aiming to advance AI-powered collaboration and digital transformation.

Xu Liu, Kingsoft Office's vice-president and general manager of global commercial business, highlighted the opportunities presented by Malaysia's multilingual business environment, which often requires support for English, Malay, and Chinese within the same document. The company plans to localize its global product foundation to facilitate seamless teamwork and cross-regional operations.

Biwei Qi, deputy general manager of global commercial business and Southeast Asia B2B Business head at Kingsoft Office, reaffirmed the company's commitment to providing direct support to Malaysian businesses and partners, with local service and training teams offering on-site assistance.

The WPS 365 platform, integral to this partnership, combines document management with AI-assisted collaboration across four core modules integrated messaging, email, meeting, and calendar. The platform enhances efficiency by enabling users to manage documents, generate meeting summaries, and track tasks.

Official statistics cited by the company reveal that Malaysia has nearly 1.3 million SMEs, accounting for about 96% of all businesses. WPS partners noted that Malaysian SMEs are increasingly interested in AI solutions, though they remain cautious about costs, data security, and the tangible benefits of digital technology.

Advisirs Plus, one of the partners and an AI-driven digital accounting firm, has already integrated WPS 365 into its operations. The platform is used by nearly 250 members of its accounting team, with plans to extend services to around 5,000 SMEs. CEO Hong Lim stated that WPS 365 has cut communication time by at least 30%, enabling efficient cross-regional collaboration and centralizing essential company documents and policies.
