Erbil:Negeri Sembilan Negeri Sembilan's land revenue collection has seen a significant increase, reaching RM404.04 million as of September 30, up by RM60.36 million from RM343.68 million recorded during the same period last year.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim announced that this collection accounts for 98.10 percent of the RM411.86 million target set for the year. The increase was bolstered by non-tax revenue collections amounting to RM256.29 million against a target of RM245.62 million, while tax revenue collection stood at RM147.74 million against a target of RM166.24 million.
The state land tax collection recorded RM144.18 million as of September 30, showing a surplus of RM534,975.93 compared to RM143.64 million in the previous year. The state government aims to achieve RM1 billion in state revenue by 2030, with the help of the e-Tanah System and its Revenue Module and online services.
The e-Tanah project, costing RM185.4 million, is a major investment by the state government to modernize land administration and enhance service delivery efficiency. The system is designed to improve the accuracy and integrity of land ownership data, address overlapping land titles, inaccurate information, land tax calculation errors, and resolve issues with cancelled ownership records remaining in the system.
The implementation will emphasize system and data security to mitigate risks of fraud, forged titles, and data manipulation, which could affect the state government and landowners. The e-Tanah system will streamline transactions for licensed land surveyors and housing developers by facilitating online submission of land development applications. It will also enable real-time monitoring of file movements and application statuses by senior officers.
The introduction of the Sixteenth Schedule to the National Land Code will allow for electronic land titles, reducing the need for physical document storage. A dedicated dashboard will be provided by the vendor to monitor the development progress, phase achievements, and address any issues or delays promptly. All features and functions must be implemented to ensure the investment meets land administration needs and public expectations.
