Sri aman: A total of 65 officers and 510 other ranks successfully completed the bilateral Exercise Kekar Malindo Series 48AB/2025 between the Malaysian Army (TDM) and the Indonesian National Army-Army (TNI-AD), which was held over 10 days beginning Nov 1.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, in a statement today, the Intelligence Staff of Headquarters 3rd Brigade said the exercise involved the 13th Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment representing the 3rd Brigade and the 641st Infantry Battalion/Bear (Yonif 641/BRU) representing the 19th Infantry Brigade/KH. The exercise was based on the Counter-Insurgency Warfare (CIW) concept and concluded with a Final Assault in the general area of Bayai, Sri Aman.

The statement noted that "the exchange of knowledge, doctrines, as well as tactics, techniques and procedures in infantry operations was established between both parties throughout the exercise." It added that the bilateral training between TDM and TNI-AD had successfully achieved its objectives of strengthening and enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two armies.

Meanwhile, the closing ceremony was officiated by Commander of the TDM 1st Infantry Division, Major General Datuk Khairul Anuar Abd Aziz, and Inspector of the Military Regional Command (IRDAM) 12/Tpr, Brig Gen TNI Agus Firman Yusmono, representing the TNI-AD, through a symbolic ceremony of removing the Toha Exercise Participant badge.

The statement further said the implementation of the exercise was in line with the Fifth Pillar of the 30th Chief of Army's Key Directives, which emphasises Defence Diplomacy Shift - enhancing efforts in joint training with friendly nations.
