Sungai buloh: Police have arrested a 19-year-old man following the tragic death of his nephew, a one-year-and-seven-month-old boy, who is believed to have died from a dog bite in Kampung Orang Asli Sungai Buloh. The arrest was made under Section 31(1)(a) of the Children Act 2001.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Sungai Buloh district police chief Supt Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor confirmed the arrest of the suspect, who belongs to the Temuan tribe. The arrest occurred at 11.50 am today following the results of an autopsy conducted at the Forensic Department of Sungai Buloh Hospital. The autopsy revealed that the cause of death was a neck injury due to a canine mauling, indicating a vicious dog attack.
Supt Mohd Hafiz urged the public to refrain from speculating on the incident and requested that anyone with information contact the Sungai Buloh Police Station Hotline or the investigating officer, Insp Mohamad Aizad Abd Azik.
The incident was initially reported to the police by a medical officer at the Sungai Buloh Hospital Emergency Department. The child was brought to the hospital unconscious, and despite receiving CPR, he was unresponsive and pronounced dead at 9.14 am. The boy was transported to the hospital by his parents, an Orang Asli couple from Kampung Orang Asli Jalan Hospital.
