Batu pahat: A man was killed after being pinned beneath a trailer in a collision involving seven vehicles in front of Masjid Sabak Uni, Jalan Kluang-Batu Pahat in Ayer Hitam this morning. Batu Pahat Fire and Rescue operations commander Superintendent Hafizul Adzrin reported that the department received an emergency call at 10.19 am.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, upon arrival at the scene, it was discovered that a trailer had lost control and crashed into six other vehicles, involving a total of 12 victims. The incident resulted in injuries to three individuals in an Isuzu lorry, three in a Honda HR-V, and one in a Hicom lorry. Fortunately, four other victims, including the driver of the trailer, managed to escape without harm.
Superintendent Hafizul detailed that one car driver was trapped after his vehicle became wedged under the trailer. A crane and specialised tools were employed in the rescue efforts, but unfortunately, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim's body was subsequently handed over to the police, and all injured parties were transported to the hospital for treatment.
