Marriott Vacation Clubs Enhances Asia Pacific Reach with New Thailand Resort

Bangkok: The Marriott Vacation Clubs, under Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corporation, is expanding its footprint in the Asia Pacific region with the opening of the Marriott Vacation Club, Khao Lak Beach Resort in Thailand this August. The new resort is part of a broader strategy aimed at regional growth, which also involves developments at Marriott's Enclave at Bali Nusa Dua Terrace, expanded apartment offerings at Marriott's Bali Nusa Dua Terrace, and an enlarged marketing call centre in Shanghai.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Marriott Vacations Worldwide President and Chief Executive Officer, John Geller, stated that this continued investment underscores the company's long-term commitment to the Asia Pacific region, reflecting the rising demand for vacation ownership among both regional and international travellers. The Khao Lak property, located within JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort and Spa, will feature 52 Family Suites transformed into spacious two-bedroom vacation ownership apartments. These are designed for extended stays, blending Southern Thai-inspired architecture with traditional furnishings and locally influenced artwork.

Guests at the new resort will have access to the extensive amenities of the JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort and Spa, including Southeast Asia's largest lagoon swimming pool, a kids' pool, 11 restaurants and bars, and additional facilities like pickleball and basketball courts, adventure golf, and cycling activities expected by late 2026. Sustainability is a key focus, with initiatives such as eliminating single-use plastics, using glass water bottles and bamboo key cards, and participating in the JW Garden programme for fresh organic produce and educational farming and well-being classes.

Reservations for the Khao Lak Beach Resort are open for stays starting on August 28, with additional apartments under construction and a new sales gallery slated to open in early 2026. Further expansion in Bali is also on the agenda, with 32 new apartments at Marriott's Bali Nusa Dua Terrace expected in early 2026. The Bali expansion will offer one- and two-bedroom units with kitchens and private plunge pools, alongside the upcoming Marriott's Enclave at Bali Nusa Dua Terrace, featuring two- and three-bedroom standalone apartments with private pools, a kids' club, a fitness studio, and an Owners' lounge.

Moreover, the company's marketing call centre in Shanghai has been expanded, increasing its workforce from 80 to 125 associates, to accommodate the growing demand among Chinese Owners and vacationers.
