MAWILLA 4 Naval Headquarters Project in Sarawak Advances to Land Acquisition Phase

Sarawak: The Royal Malaysian Navy's (TLDM) Region Four Naval Headquarters (MAWILLA 4) project in Muara Tebas is currently at the land acquisition stage, as confirmed by Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin. He noted that negotiations are ongoing with the Sarawak State Secretary to ensure a smooth process in line with established procedures.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohamed Khaled emphasized the strategic importance of the MAWILLA 4 project and the need to expedite its progress. "The MAWILLA 4 project is now in the process of finalising land matters. We have identified the location and are dealing with the state government so that they can facilitate the land acquisition process. Land matters are not simple, but I hope we can resolve them as soon as possible," he stated during a working visit to the Muara Tuang Camp.

The Defence Minister further explained that the construction of MAWILLA 4 is part of a broader strategic plan by the ministry to ensure a balanced deployment of personnel between Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia. The goal is to achieve a balanced ratio of personnel, although various factors influence this aim. This includes the construction of new camps and the relocation of assets, which require careful planning and cannot be implemented immediately.
