Maxis The First Telco In Malaysia To Offer GPUaaS To Malaysian Customers

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia’s leading integrated telco, Maxis, will be the first telco in Malaysia to provide cloud-based graphics processing units-as-a-service (GPUaaS) to Malaysian customers.

Maxis said the service will use NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPU clusters, and Maxis will also be one of the first telcos globally to offer services with NVIDIA’s next-generation GB200 Grace Blackwell Superchips.

As part of the Maxis Business portfolio, GPUaaS provides businesses with easy access to powerful graphics processing units (GPUs) for advanced artificial intelligence (AI) training and inferencing applications.

Maxis’s GPUaaS will offer a cost-effective way for customers to quickly deploy high-performance capabilities essential for intensive processing workloads such as AI, machine learning, and deep learning.

This is expected to eliminate the need for businesses to invest in costly GPU hardware or maintain complex infrastructure.

With the scalable computing power available on-demand through GPUaaS, Goh said custo
mers can allocate more time and resources to their core business activities and accelerate their development of Generative AI, large language models, and AI workloads.

‘We are pleased to be the first telco in Malaysia to provide GPUaaS, enabling high-performance computing and data processing on demand,’ said Maxis chief executive officer Goh Seow Eng.

He said businesses will have the flexibility to scale their resources as needed for more complex workloads such as AI, machine learning, 3D modelling, and large-scale analytics.

‘As Malaysia’s leading integrated telco, we will continue to simplify the process for customers to leverage the best in connectivity and digital solutions, allowing them to focus on growing their business,’ he added.

On Aug 19, 2024, 35 members of Bridge Alliance and Singtel announced their strategic partnership, which brings Singtel’s GPUaaS offerings to enterprises across the region.

Maxis, as a Bridge Alliance member operator, has strategically decided to leverage Singtel’s offer
ings, which complement its own extensive cloud and connectivity solutions, enabling customers to obtain the solutions needed to meet their organisational needs.
