Kuala lumpur: McDonald's Malaysia today presented a RM420,000 donation to Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Malaysia, raised through its 'Prosperity Kembali, Lebih Bererti' campaign, which ran from Nov 20 to Dec 31. McDonald's Malaysia chief marketing officer Chin Mei Lee expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from customers, which enabled the company to contribute significantly to the community through this initiative.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Chin Mei Lee highlighted the importance of customer support in making this campaign successful. "We are truly thankful to Malaysians for supporting McDonald's Malaysia's efforts to give back to the community through the 'Prosperity Kembali, Lebih Bererti' campaign by purchasing the Prosperity Burger set. We are honoured by our continued collaboration with RMHC Malaysia and hope that this donation will have a meaningful impact on children in need across the country," she stated during the donation presentation ceremony.
The campaign allocated RM0.20 from every purchase of the Prosperity Burger set to RMHC Malaysia, supporting the charity's initiatives aimed at benefiting underprivileged children and families. Chin detailed that the funds will support various programmes, including accommodation at Ronald McDonald House, the creation of the Ronald McDonald Sensory Therapy Room, cleft lip and palate surgery through the Anugerah Senyuman programme, and the Back to School programme.
RMHC Malaysia general manager Nasri Nordin also expressed his appreciation to McDonald's customers for their generous support. "RMHC Malaysia is deeply grateful to McDonald's customers for purchasing the Prosperity Burger set through this campaign. Every cent of the donation received through McDonald's Malaysia is deeply appreciated and will help RMHC Malaysia further expand its programmes to improve the lives of children and families in need," he said.
RMHC Malaysia annually provides accommodation to over 4,000 families accompanying children receiving treatment at hospitals. Additionally, more than 4,500 children with special needs benefit from therapy at the Ronald McDonald Sensory Therapy Room. The charity also supports 10,000 Year One students nationwide with Back to School Packs and facilitates cleft lip and palate surgeries for 100 children through the Anugerah Senyuman programme.
