Felda chiku 2: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has announced plans to construct new telecommunications towers in the Felda Chiku 2 region as part of the National Digital Network Plan (JENDELA). This initiative aims to enhance internet coverage and improve the stability and quality of service in the area.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, MCMC stated that the proposal is a response to ongoing complaints from residents regarding weak and inconsistent internet connectivity. While basic internet infrastructure exists, monitoring has identified several blind spots that require enhancements in coverage and service quality.
MCMC revealed that it has conducted quality tests on telecommunications services at three specific locations highlighted by residents' complaints. These tests aim to assess the current coverage performance in the area. The results are being thoroughly analyzed to determine the most suitable follow-up actions to ensure users have a better experience.
Additionally, the commission is considering deploying Starlink satellite internet devices as a temporary measure at locations that will be identified in the future.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Zaidatul Azizi Mohd Zaidatul Azman, chairman of Belia Felda Chiku 2, highlighted that residents have been dealing with unstable internet coverage for the past three years. He noted that around 200 households need to travel about one kilometer from their homes to access a stronger signal. The areas most affected include those around the mosque extending to Gua Chiku 2, which has hindered youths' ability to engage in digital activities, such as online learning and other daily tasks.
