Kuala Lampur:The implementation of the Multi-Lane Fast Flow (MLFF) tolling system will proceed at a measured pace, with stakeholders receiving additional time to finalize necessary arrangements, according to Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the minister stated that involved parties have been given a timeline to work out the details, with several platforms under consideration, though negotiations are still ongoing. He refrained from revealing specific details as discussions continue, but assured the public that information would be disclosed in due course.
The MLFF system will adopt a business-to-business (B2B) model, allowing highway concessionaires and other interested parties to collaborate on its development. This approach enables participants to negotiate among themselves, particularly focusing on concessionaires who own the highways and related assets.
Nanta emphasized the significant role of the highway association in facilitating negotiations between concessionaires and other parties interested in investing in the system.
Addressing payment integration, Nanta mentioned the ongoing pilot testing of the 'JustGo' system on selected expressways, including those operated by PLUS Malaysia Berhad. This pilot project allows participating parties to evaluate the feasibility of the JustGo platform or other platforms for collaborative adoption across networks.
