Thunderstorms and Heavy Rain Forecast Across Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur:Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected to hit 12 Malaysian states and the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Labuan until 9 pm tonight.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning highlighting the severity of the weather conditions.

The states likely to experience the adverse weather include Perlis, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, and Melaka. In Perak, areas such as Kerian, Hulu Perak, Selama, Larut Matang, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, and Perak Tengah are on alert. Meanwhile, in Kedah, the affected areas are Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Padang Terap, Sik, Baling, Pokok Sena, Kota Setar, Pendang, Yan, and Kuala Muda.

Johor's Segamat, Batu Pahat, Muar, and Tangkak, along with Pahang's Cameron Highlands, Jerantut, Kuantan, Maran, Temerloh, Bentong, Bera, and Lipis, are also under threat from the severe weather.

Terengganu's Hulu Terengganu, Dungun, and Kemaman are expected to be impacted, with Kelantan's Gua Musang, Kuala Krai, and Jeli also in the path of the storm.

In Sabah, areas within the Interior such as Kuala Penyu, Beaufort, Membakut, Tambunan, Sipitang, Keningau, and Pensiangan, as well as the West Coast areas including Papar, Ranau, Kota Belud, and Tuaran, are expected to experience the bad weather.

Sarawak's affected regions include Limbang, Miri (Marudi, Beluru, and Telang Usan), Bintulu (Sebauh and Tatau), Sibu, Sarikei, Kapit (Belaga), Serian (Tebedu), and Kuching (Kuching and Bau).
