Moderate Earthquake Detected in Flores Region

Flores: A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 was detected in the Flores Region, Indonesia, at 2:51 pm today. The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), via a post on Facebook, said that the earthquake was centered at coordinates 8.0 degrees south and 120.6 degrees east, at a depth of 10 kilometers (km), located 213 km east of Bima, Indonesia.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, there is no tsunami threat to Malaysia. Yesterday, a strong earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 struck Flores Island, resulting in 47 fatalities and causing damage to hundreds of houses and public facilities.
